വേദകാലത്തിനും മുന്നേ, ഭാരതത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട തീർഥാടന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലൊന്ന് എന്ന ബഹുമതിയ്ക്കർഹമായ അംബാജി, സതീ ദേവിയുടെ 51 ശക്തിപീഠങ്ങളിലൊന്നായാണ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. കൊടുംകാടുകളാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ട് കിടക്കുന്നതാണെങ്കിലും അതെല്ലാം താണ്ടി ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും വിശ്വാസികൾ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന അരസുരി അംബാജി മാതാ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ വിശേഷങ്ങളും പ്രത്യേകതകളും...
ഗുജറാത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രത്യേകത നിറഞ്ഞ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് അരസുരി അംബാജി മാതാ ക്ഷേത്രം. ശക്തിദേവിയായ സതി ദേവിയുടെ ഹൃദയം പതിച്ചു എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന സ്ഥാനമാണിത്. ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും തീർഥാടകർ ഇവിടെ എത്തുന്നു.
ഗുജറാത്തിലാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നതെങ്കിലും ഗുജറാത്തിന്റെയും രാജസ്ഥാന്റെയും അതിർത്തിയിലായാണ് ഇതുള്ളത്. ബനാസ്കാന്ത ജില്ലയിലെ ഡാന്റ താലൂക്കില് ഗബ്ബാര് കുന്നിന്റെ മുകളിലാണ് അംബാജി മാതായുടെ പീഠം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സമുദ്ര നിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നും 1600 അടി ഉയരത്തിലാണ് ഇവിടമുള്ളത്.
ഹൈന്ദവ വിശ്വാസമനുസരിച്ച് സതീ ദേവിയുടെ ശക്തി പീഠങ്ങളിലൊന്നായാണ് ഇതിനെ കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്.
51 ശക്തി പീഠങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രാധാന്യമർഹിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രം കൂടിയാണിത്. തന്റെ പിതാവിൻറെ അവഗണനയെത്തുടർന്ന് പ്രാണത്യാഗം ചെയ്ത സതീദേവിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതാണ് ശക്തിപീഠം. സതീദേവിയുടെ ആത്മാഹുതിയെതുടർന്ന് കുപിതനായ ശിവൻ ദേവിയുടെ ശരീരവും വഹിച്ച് അലഞ്ഞു തിരിയുവാൻ തുടങ്ങി. ഇത് കണ്ട വിഷ്ണു ശിവനെ ഇതിൽ നിന്നും മോചിതനാക്കുന്നതിനായി സുദർശനചക്രം കൊണ്ട് സതിയുടെ ശരീരത്തെ ഖണ്ഡിച്ചു. ശരീരം 51 ഭാഗങ്ങളായി ഭൂമിയുടെ വിവധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ പതിച്ചു. ഈ സ്ഥലങ്ങളാണ് ശക്തി പീഠം എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
സതീ ദേവിയുടെ ശരീര ഭാഗങ്ങൾ വീണതിൽ ഹൃദയം പതിച്ച ഇടമായാണ് അംബാജി ക്ഷേത്രം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ഏറ്റവും ശക്തിയേറിയതും പ്രശസ്തവുമായ ശക്തിപീഠം കൂടിയാണിത്.
